Limits of this tool
- It builds the file in the format proposed at llmstxt.org: a title line, a short summary, optional notes, then lists of links. Source: llmstxt.org

- Some other AI services may read the file. Whether a tool uses it is up to that tool.

What llms.txt is
llms.txt is a plain text file at the root of a website, written in Markdown. It gives AI tools a short summary of the site and a list of its most useful pages. It is a proposal from llmstxt.org, not a standard every tool follows.
It is not a ranking factor in Google. Google’s guide to generative AI search says Google Search ignores the file, and that adding one will neither harm nor help your rankings there.
So why make one? Some other AI services may read it. It costs little, and our generator below builds one in a minute.
How to use the generator
- Type your site or project name. It becomes the title line.
- Write a one or two sentence summary of the site.
- List your most useful pages, one per line: the title, a | sign, then the full address.
- Add secondary pages under Optional, if you want them.
- Press Generate, then copy the file or download it.
- Save it as llms.txt at the root of your site, for example https://example.com/llms.txt.
How to read your result
The file reads from top to bottom, in the order the format sets.
- # Name: the title line, your site or project name.
- > Summary: the short description, as a quote line.
- Notes: any extra detail, with no headings.
- ## Sections: lists of links, written as
- [Title](address): note. - ## Optional: secondary links that tools may skip.
How to fix the common problems
A line has no | sign
Each page needs its title, a | sign, then its address. The generator names the line it could not read.
An address does not start with https://
Use the full address, as it shows in your browser’s address bar.

No. List the pages that help most: your services, prices, about and contact pages. Put the rest under Optional, or leave them out.
